SchemaVela

Editorial policy

Updated:

These are the rules this publication follows. A rule that the desk does not apply is not listed here.

Attribution

Notes are signed “SchemaVela editors” unless a real person is named as the author. The publication does not invent biographies, portraits, or quotations from people who were not consulted.

Sources

A number, a date, a quotation, or a statement that a specification requires something is tied to a document the reader can open: a specification, an RFC, a published guideline from the organization that wrote it, or the documentation of a tool describing that tool.

Secondary write-ups may help find the primary document. They are not the support for a numeric claim. If the primary document cannot be opened, the claim is removed or the note says that only a retelling was found.

The source list at the end of a note names the documents used. Access dates and the exact claim each source supports are kept in the editorial record for that note. The page does not add a source that was rejected.

Illustrations and readings

A JSON fragment on this site is an editorial illustration unless the note says it is copied from a cited document. Illustrations use reserved example hosts and generic field names. They are not case studies.

When a paragraph is the desk’s reading of a specification, it says so. That reading is not presented as a measurement, a survey, or a requirement the specification does not contain.

What the notes do not contain

The desk does not publish invented benchmarks, unnamed “typical” customers, testimonials, or logos of companies that did not agree to appear. It does not claim that SchemaVela has operated for years before the first publication date on the about page.

Corrections

If a published fact is wrong or a specification has been superseded and the note still states the old document as current, the note is updated and the change is listed on the corrections page. The list states the date, the note, and what changed. The desk does not fill that page with sample corrections.

An updated note sets its updated date. The first publication date stays.

Analytics and search consoles

This build does not include an analytics measurement id or a search-console verification token. If either is added later, this page will say so in the same change.

Language

Launch notes are in English. The desk does not add machine-translated editions in this build.
